Football star hosts M-Net's Deal Or No Deal Nigeria on DStv
M-NET’s hot new game Deal Or No Deal Nigeria has made a hot new announcement. The show has scored its first goal, signing up football star and FA Cup winner John Fashanu as the host of the series, which will be available only on DStv!

John Fasanu is on top of the game
Also famous as a successful TV star in the United Kingdom and a UNICEF Ambassador for Africa, Fashanu will make his debut on Deal Or No Deal Nigeria when it launches on M-NET on Sunday July 8 at 8pm.

Offering the opportunity for contestants to win up to USD 100 000 an episode, Deal Or No Deal Nigeria is ‘big prize’ TV and with Fashanu helming the series, it looks set to become must-watch TV!

Announcing M-Net’s scoop in landing Fashanu to present the Nigerian version of the internationally franchised hit series, M-Net Director of Operations for Sub-Saharan Africa Joseph Hundah said creating top-class Nigerian TV content was high on
M-Net’s list of priorities and having Fashanu on board upped the excitement!

“Having John Fashanu host Deal Or No Deal Nigeria is a scoop for M-Net. It means that, in addition to the great prizes, a glitzy stage, glamourous models and wonderful contestants, audiences have one more reason to tune in to this locally produced series. John Fashanu brings his own personal style, elegance and wit to a show that he has confidently endorsed by his involvement.”

Asked why he wanted to be involved with Deal Or No Deal Nigeria, Fashanu simply says, “I thought it would be a great opportunity to experience working on one of the biggest International TV entertainment shows.”

No stranger to the spotlight, this one-time prolific goal-scorer has scored successes off the field as well.

He hosted the famous Gladiator series in the UK for 9 years plus featured in two reality shows, Get Me Out of Here, I’m A Celebrity and the football-themed Fash FC. In addition, he’s a prominent businessman who was named the International Business Person of the Year (1999 - 2000) by UK Black Links. He also won The Business Federation Achievement Award (1990) and was named the Coca-Cola Face of Nigeria (1995).

With his experience in TV, Fashanu knows good TV when he sees it and so encourages Nigerian audiences to tune in to Deal Or No Deal Nigeria saying, “Having worked on some of the biggest shows in the UK I believe this is going to be even bigger and more exciting.”

Joining John on-stage each Sunday night will be 26 gorgeous True Love models who will be guardians of 26 sealed briefcases. And it’s these sealed briefcases that are at the heart of how the show works…

In every episode a single Nigerian contestant will eliminate sealed briefcases, each of which contains a concealed amount of money. Along the way, they will have to outwit the show’s banker who will be trying to buy out each contestant by offering them a sum of money that may or may not be higher than the sum of the money hidden inside the briefcase they picked.

It’s a game of chance, it’s also a game of risks and reward …do you take the banker’s offer and leave with less than you may have won? Or do you play on and perhaps lose it all?

Headline sponsored by FCMB (First City Monument Bank) and with Starcomms as associate sponsor, Deal Or No Deal Nigeria requires nerves of steel, a strong personality and a risk-taking nature from contestants. It’s all about making the right choice at the right time!

One thing is very clear though - in tuning in to watch John Fashanu host M-Net’s Deal Or No Deal, DStv viewers will be making the right choice at the right time!
